When did you first find out that you had psychic abilities?

I think I was a toddler!  I just knew the “imaginary” friends little kids have were NOT all imaginary!  I had real conversations with real spirits that gave me real tangible information.  I honestly thought everybody could see them.

What made you want to do this for a living?

Ha!  Spirit?  Divine intervention?  I have tried to do a million other things…  I tried the medical field.  Trained EMT and worked in the emergency room.  Owned a pet store.  An actor.  A producer. I have run a production company for 30 years.  But spirit keeps leading me here to this world!

How did you get cast on Ghost Adventures?

My first episode was Haunted Hollywood.  I was called in because of an experience I had had at the American Legion Hall with Charlie Chaplin.  I fell in love with Zak and the crew – and thankfully for me, they started calling me in often – either to “feel out” a location to verify their findings or history of the place – or to do a séance – or just to validate the spirit activity.

What was filming like on the show?

I love it. Its always an adventure!  I NEVER know what I am getting into.  Zak wants everything real and in the moment (as it should be) – so I never know where I am going or the history of the place.  I am given an address to drive or fly to and that’s it.  I am kept sequestered in a room or van – even blind folded if need be to keep me literally “in the dark”!   If it IS a location I know (Like the Reseda house or Pasadena house – he will NOT have me do an investigation or séance there.  He doesn’t want anything influenced.  I respect that SO much!

You also had a role on Miami Vice in the ’80’s what was working on that show like?

It was the wild 80s!  A whole different Hollywood than it is now.  Always professional though.  I actually did many episodes of Miami Vice in the sound studio alone staring at a big screen.  I did a lot of “voice over” work on the show – where you really didn’t interact with a lot of the cast or crew except in a big dark recording room!

How did you get interested in witchcraft?

Its in my blood.  A connection to nature.  I just naturally knew that if I picked some rosemary out of our garden and put it in my moms wallet – it would attract more money for her.  I was making potions and mixes from an early age.  The knowledge is literally just in my blood!  Once I was 13 I started searching religions and faiths to see what drew me in.  I tried everything – and the nature based pagan path is the one that resonated with me.  Though I really do draw wisdom from all faiths in my work.

What does being a “Good Witch” mean?

Well, for one, it means that I watch a whole lotta Wizard of Oz!  I even have a big pink gown like Glinda.  But what it means to me is that I only do good / positive / non manipulative magic.  I just prefer the word “good” witch to “white” witch.  (Just like Glinda!)

What inspired you to write your book?

Working with clients every day – and seeing the pattern of so many of us giving away our power!  To other people, to limiting belief systems, to fear…. And I wanted a super simple, clear, easy and fun to read book that can give anybody a new empowering perspective of how they really can become the master of their own lives and take their power back.

Any advice for someone who wants to get into magick?

Start simple.  Make sure you have integrity, moral code and a good sense of right and wrong.  With that you cant really go wrong.  If you don’t have that – I honestly wouldn’t suggest getting involved until you did more self discovery.  I would start anybody off with my book OLD WORLD MAGICK FOR THE MODERN WORLD…  I would also recommend most anything by Scott Cunningham – or my new fav magickal writer – Alex Kazemi and his book POP MAGICK!

Do you have a favorite spell you could share?

My money spell is everyone’s favorite… because its simple to do – and works!

Most everyone could use a little extra cash in their pocket.   I learned this spell over 20 years ago.  It is the simplest, easiest and most effective spell imaginable.  And… It has ALWAYS worked for me.

So…  Before we get started, you will need to gather your simple supplies.  What you need is a crisp, new dollar bill.  (or the nicest one you have.)  I much prefer REAL – but it can be play money if you prefer. Forewarning… it is illegal to burn money**  Get a pen.  A fire safe bowl, a candle and some incense.

Now, just a reminder: here are the most important components for Successful Spell casting:

  • Passion fuels a successful spell; doubt can kill it.
  • Have a clear goal.
  • Rhyming is great!  An old adage says that spells should rhyme. A rhymed spell has rhythm and joyfulness in it, it’s easy to remember and repeat, and the repetition itself creates an altered, magical consciousness.

First, create a “sacred” space… Say a prayer, call in the elements, play some music, whatever feels right.  Be relaxed yet focused (breathing can help, a cleansing bath or shower or meditation.)  Light the incense and candle.  Call in YOUR divinity (God, universe, angels, guides, higher self, whatever words you use.  I work elementally – so I am going to call in the air, fire, water and earth elements.

Now, I want you to concentrate on the candle a couple minutes, watch the smoke of the incense and think about all the material and monetary things you want to bring into your life.  You can include things like zero balance on your credit card, new car, money in the bank, etc. etc..  Really concentrate.  I want you to literally see it, smell it, feel it, taste it in every cell of your body.  Once you do, start passionately writing it on the dollar bill.

You can write as much as you can cram in.  (It’s okay if it becomes illegible).  See yourself having these things NOW.   When you have written everything you want on the bill (you can include pictures, signs or sigils if you want)…  Hold the dollar bill up.  Wave it over the incense smoke three times.  Keep your intention high.  Pass it over the candle three times – and on the third time… LIGHT THE DOLLAR BILL!  My favorite time to do this is on a full moon… and for the burning part of the ritual I do it outside under the light of the moon so I can watch the smoke drifting up to the heavens.  You CAN do it whenever needed of course… but if possible, it is best on the full moon itself – or during the period of the waxing moon.  Okay… back to the burning…  THIS is where you have to really create the energy.  Sway back and forth as it burns.  Come up with a chant “money, money, money – come to me.  Money, money, money now I see” – or anything that suits your fancy.  My favorite is a MAAA chant which I demonstrate on my money spell youtube video.

Whichever method you are choosing THIS is the part where you are building the energy up and up and up!  When the last bit of the dollar burns (drop it into the fire safe bowl to avoid burning your fingers) you shoot all that energy and intention up into the universe.  It is done!  Say something like “By the power of three times three, this spell bound round shall be” – or just a great big AHO or AMEN will do!  Now, know that it has worked and go out and live into that reality.  Check in with me when your spell starts working!   Sometimes it’s REALLY fast.  Sometimes it takes a bit…  But believe me; it has brought amazing abundance to tons of people I know for years now!

Now, follow those guidelines and go out and create some magic.   The one real “rule” to remember is a spell is only used to control yourself, never another or nature.   Do not do spell work on someone else’s behalf without their permission. Before performing your spell, carefully think through all the possible repercussions to make certain that it does not have a manipulative component.

Always stay in integrity.  Always work in the “light” and all will be well!
